Joining Together

A play date is perfect in times of uncertainty.  Let’s run in freedom and joy.  Let’s eat pizza and gelato and get panna all over our faces.  Let’s rinse our hands in the street fountains.  Let’s swing like dare devils.  Let’s imagine our most perfect idea of a park.  Let’s make thick macaroni and cover it will all the cheese we have in the refrigerator.  Let’s mix marscapone and yogurt with sugar, put berries on top, and call it panna cotta no matter if it is or not.  It’s our own special treat.  Today’s play date is ours.  It’s our time today.  It’s our time to laugh, to run, to play, to eat, to talk, to enjoy each other.

French Inspiration

I picked up Sur la route today and found these two words in English: certain moment.  I understood these and wrote “It’s Alright.”  You can check out the music category to hear the tune.  -Naphtalia

Immaculate

I thought of you today
overwhelmed with tears
at the beauty of the garden
perfectly trimmed, formed, tilled
I thought of you–
a mess
How neat and trim we are at birth
How slaught-upon with muck
of worldly corruption, ideas,
philosophies, moments
Mud building up on the
once-clean skin of our
souls
Boh.  (I have no idea.)
Away, away
to wash away the slimely
crawly, worm-invested
mud.
No grub of this mud will do you any good.
Please go clean up
Wash yourself in a cleansing river
a good old seven times.
-Naphtalia

Moments

I don’t need big parties, but I do need little moments.  I need little moments throughout the day that remind me of real love.  I need a wink.  I need a smile.  A secret shoulder dance from across the room.  I’ll take two kisses on entering a room.  And two more going out again.  I live for kitchen counter talks, filming spontaneous interviews, and nearly missing the walk sign at the stop light because we’re so engrossed in the moment.  No prepackaged romance for me, simply Rome and all it’s wondrous moments.  -Naphtalia
